Live Love Laugh Every Day – #Valentine’s Day

Not Just for Valentine’s Day

Wishing all of you here a Happy Valentine’s Day!

While some of us get caught up in the romance of Valentine’s Day, I’m reminding everyone here that Valentine’s Day can be much more than just a day for romance.

Let Your Heart

Valentine’s Day is a day to remind us to show some love to those dear to us, but love and kindness is something we should practice every day . . . and not just to our loved ones.

If Valentine’s Day was acknowledged every day amongst one another, how much better could we make the world?

Don’t forget to love yourself. To give love freely, start first with yourself.

Don’t forget to love yourself – Soren Kierkegaard

To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance – Oscar Wilde

You, yourself as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection – Buddha

Love is the great miracle cure. Loving ourselves works miracles in our lives – Louise L. Hay

If your heart is a volacano, how shall you expect flowers to bloom? – Khalil Gibran

Sharing Love

In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years – Abraham Lincoln

We do not remember days, we remember moments – Cesare Parese

Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them – Dalai Lama

If life had a second edition, how I would correct the proofs – John Clare

  1. You are so right Debby. We have to love ourselves on this day. (And God knows I’m the world’s worst at that, but I recognize the necessity.)
I think Valentine’s Day can be a celebration of anything we love — person, cause, or activity. Just celebrate something! ❤ Wonderful post. Mega hugs.

  2. Still on the mend, but progress is happening. So here’s a little more as promised. Daisaku Ikeda says this: “Real love is not one person clinging to another; it can only be fostered between two strong people secure in their individuality.” He went on to quote Antoine de Saint Exupery, “Love is not two people gazing at each other, but two people looking ahead in the same direction.” Juanita and I have that. I suspect you and Gordon have that as well.

    1. That was so beautiful John. Thanks for sharing that here with us. Absolutely, love is two people on the same path, growing and sharing and common desires and goals.
I’m glad you’re on the mend my friend. I hope you’ve managed to have a little heartful celebration today with Juanita. 🙂

    1. I just saw your email. Thanks so much for the heads up. What’s up with that? Am I not in the reader again?
So lovely to see you here Diana! I too wasn’t seeing your blog. I just went into to ‘manage my subscriptions’ and found many blogs that decided to switch the mode to no posts or comments on their own. I had to reactivate. Maybe you could try that? And please, let me know. 🙂 ❤

      1. You know the email you get notifying you of someone’s like? Gives you three posts of theirs you can tap to enter their site. Those links are gone in your notices and I couldn’t enter your site.

  4. Wonderful quotes and sentiments Debby. It doesn’t take much to show kindness does it? So very true. And you have certainly shown me sooooo much of that 🙂 I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day my sweet, lovely friend, and that every day for you is filled with love, kindness and joy… xoxo ❤

      1. Oh I’m so glad Debby, that sounds like a wonderful day! I did too, thank you, had my boys home for the weekend, celebrating my mum’s 80th birthday with my brother and his family (she doesn’t look or act it, lol!). Then hubby and I had a meal out last night for Valentine’s 🙂 So no complaints here! I love your hearts and flowers…sending the very same right back to you! ❤ xoxo

      2. How lovely Sherri that you got to have your whole family celebrate with you. See, it’s not all about romance. It’s about love and joy in your heart for everyone you love. And thank you back sweet friend. xoxo ❤

  5. Yes to love. Thank you, Debby. I have learned that Love outlasts a life. Vic and I didn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. It was our youngest son’s birthday, but we also held the idea that every day is Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. No special days needed when it comes to sharing love.
