#Blue Sky Tag – Time for a little fun and distraction…#TGIF
I’ve been invited to hop on to the Blue Sky Tag Challenge by Sally Cronin. The rules of the challenge are:
11 tags, 11 answers, 11 questions
Use the Blue Sky banner (that Rachael Ritchey designed).
It is sort of polite to mention the person who tagged you (even if you are busy and have not time for fun)
You need to answer the 11 questions set by your tagger (even though you wonder where they dredged them up from)
You will need to make up 11 original and interesting or funny questions for those you tag.
You need to tag 11 people
You can read Sally’s post and the answers to her questions HERE
And now for the questions Sally has put out for those of us she has tagged:
What was the name of your first pet and what did you love most about them? (if you have not had a pet, substitute, boyfriend, girlfriend, or film star!)
I didn’t have any pets – save for a few goldfish. But my first boyfriend was Brian. He lived on my street and we spent lots of time talking and plotting that we should elope and get married. I was 13, he was 12. Well, he went off to summer camp and quickly forgot about me when he met somebody else. I saw him a few years later and he apologized for his indiscretions and told me he ruined a good thing. Ya, well . . . he did, lol.
If you could meet anyone from history, who would you meet and why?
I don’t think I’d want to go too far back into history. I would have loved to have met with Norah Ephron. I think her and I could have been great friends. I love her writing, her honesty and after reading bios, almost all of her books, and watching documentaries about her I just feel that I can relate to her.
What is the most common misconception people have about you?
I think because of my chosen style and my big personality., at first appearance I come off as bold and sometimes intimidating to those who haven’t yet met me. Just proves one shouldn’t choose a book solely for its cover.
If you could buy any car in the world what would it be and why?
Lol, I’m not really a car freak, but I do like a bigger car with good pick-up. I’ve also become filled with high anxiety when driving on our crowded streets. I should think if I could afford to buy any car, I’d buy a limousine and hire a driver to do the driving for me.
Do you have a hobby your friends don’t know about?
Well, I really miss playing poker. I’m not sure if everyone knows that I enjoy the game and I used to be quite good at it. But I’ve given up that passion when I became a full time writer. Poker is a game that requires lots of time, patience and studying your opponents. Some say, an hour to learn and a lifetime to master.
What was the last movie you saw at the cinema?
I’m embarrassed to say, but I haven’t been to the movies in years. I just prefer to watch at home on my big screen TV, where I can pause it when necessary, and be comfortable on my couch.
Describe your perfect day?
Sun shining, no worries, and a glitch-free computer day.
Summer or winter?
Summer in winter – when I go away to the sunshine, leaving the cold winter behind.
Looks or Personality?
Absolutely personality!!!!!!!!
City or countryside?
Born and bred a city girl; I love the country for great escapes, but I require the hustle and bustle of city life.
Action or comedy?
I love to laugh so I’m always game for a good comedy, but also a great critic of comedies that aren’t funny. Give me a great chick-flick any day!
Tag! You’re it:
Stevie Turner, Adele Marie Park, Hugh Roberts, Marcia Meara, Marjorie Mallon, Balroop Singh, Norah Colvin, Jane Sturgeon, John Maberry, Christy Birmingham,
Here are your questions:
If you don’t choose to join in, you are forgiven. and being that there are only 11 to be tagged, I welcome any and all of you to join in!

Lol Sal. Lots of room in my limo for you. And no probs, most cruiseships have poker in their casinos. We’ll be there for sure!
Thanks for inviting me to the challenge Sal. 🙂 ❤ xx

Great replies! I know what you mean about driving. I always joke I´d love to have a tank. I like going to the movies but sometimes it can be trying on one’s patience. Have a great Friday, Debby!

I laughed at your first boyfriend, Debby. I had a few when I was young too. I wasn’t very loyal though. I really enjoyed your answers. Have a super weekend.

I go for the limousine with a Schaeffer, Debby. I once had a van conversion with a large console on the dashboard. Two TVs, back seats rolled down a be a queen size bed. The good thing was the driver’s seat was so high I could see all the cars around me.
I like card games and good at learning new ones but I don’t know how to play poker. We have a poker class at OLLI that I told you about. I like my husband to go with me in the future.
You first boyfriend missed out the whole world!!
I enjoy reading your answers. Even though I’m not doing fulltime writing, my husband keeps asking where we can go somewhere. I said we just came back from Alaska, and we’re going to Hong Kong, and India. He has more time on his hand, that’s it. ❤

Lol Miriam you’re so funny. That van sounds comfy, but still, we need the chauffeur! 🙂 And you are so sweet to say that about my first boyfriend. Funny, I’ve bumped into him twice more later in life. He still remarked about the bad choice he made at 13 LOL. 🙂 ❤

May there be blue skies ahead for you, Debby! 🏖️ ☁️ 🌅
I’m also a city girl who loves sunny days and no glitches!
I saw both brand new films, “Mamma Mia 2” and “The Book Club” with a best friend, Jenny. I enjoy laughing but also the true life drama, “Maudie” from the library was so sweet and yet, gritty. A disabled artist chooses to help a bachelor and manages to marry him, become the famous “other Grandma Moses.”
I won’t probably do the tags but wishing you a happy summer coming to a wonderful fall, dear friend! Hugs xo 💗 ~Robin

Hi Robin. So nice to see you pop by, especially since you’re taking an indefinite blog break. ❤ Yes! I love all those movies you named. I plan on seeing them soon as I can rent them directly from my comfy couch and TV remote, lol. I did see Maudie! Yes, it was gritty, but although sad in many parts, it was a beautiful movie of the artist's life. ❤
I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and hope to see you back in the fall. Be well. 🙂 ❤ Hugs xxx

You’re ‘first boyfriend’ story is priceless. I think we all have a first boyfriend or first girlfriend buried in our memories of childhood. I did imagine you as self confident, professional and assured about your goals. It’s good to learn more about you.

This was fun, Debby. I enjoyed reading your responses. My heritage is country people, and I still long for the country, but I’ve grown to prefer the convenience of my city life.
I second you on the limo. Wouldn’t that be fabulous?
What a pity time wasn’t limitless. Then we wouldn’t have to give up those things we love for things we love even more.(I’m sure Brian rues the day he followed his fleeting heart. :))
Thank you for the tag. I was blue sky tagged before and declined. I’m one of those people who hates saying “No”. Perhaps this week is a little less busy. I’ll see how I go. Best wishes.

Thanks so much Norah, and for sharing some of your own preferences too. Like you, I don’t usually accept the challenges either but once in awhile I don’t mind hopping on. No worries, believe me, I know all about ‘time’. No pressure at all, and no time limits either so if you should get the urge, welcome. ❤

Well, Brian missed out big time, didn’t he? I’m with you on watching movies at home, Debby. Not even the promise of a large carton of sweet popcorn and a hotdog would get me back to the cinema. I like my creature comforts too much. Plus, I don’t get embarrassed if I fall asleep and wake up with my head somewhere it shouldn’t be.
Thanks so much for tagging me, but I’m gonna have to pop your balloon and decline the invitation to join in. I have my reasons but they are too boring to put on here. I know, I’m a kill-joy, but stick a DVD on with Tom Selleck in it, and we lose the ‘kill’ in that word.

Lol Hugh, ever the entertainer. No worries my friend, it’s totally optional. I don’t usually hop on either but once or twice a year I’ll accept.
Now we would have a blast watching movies together! Yes, I know about the falling asleep part too, lol. That’s why the rewind feature on the remote is a beautiful thing when watching movies at home too. 🙂 ❤

I had to go back in time to find this one, Debby. I haven’t completed my response to Sally’s tag yet, but I will. I remember you talking about your poker playing days. Ha ha. And I haven’t been to a movie in ages either. Hope you have a sun shining, no worries, and a glitch-free computer day!
