Stevie Turner has recently been nominated for the Mystery Blogger Award and is passing the torch to some fellow bloggers. Stevie kindly nominated me for this award. I wasn’t quite sure why I was chosen for a mystery writer award, but quite often I can be mysterious, lol, but seriously, I clicked on the link of the creator of this award and he explains eloquently what prompted the idea for the award :
WHY DID I CREATE THE AWARD?
I created the award because there are a lot of amazing blogs out there that haven’t been discovered, yet. And, most of these blogs deserve recognition. For that reason, I decided to create my own award; and nominate people who can also nominate others; and so on. This is one of the best ways to create a friendly community and build a link between bloggers in the blogosphere; as everyone gets nominated and they too can spread the fun by nominating more people for the award.
I decided to call the award “Mystery Blogger Award.” Why? Because the meaning of my name, “Enigma” is “mystery.” So basically, it’s named after myself; the creator. Plus, I think it’s cool because there are so many blogs that are still a mystery to us; and when we get to know them, it’s divine! And we find friends where we least expect.
WHAT IS MYSTERY BLOGGER AWARD?
“Mystery Blogger Award” is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging; and they do it with so much love and passion.
– Okoto Enigma
So thanks again Stevie, lol.

5 Things About Myself:
I’m gluten/dairy intolerant
I’m craving sunshine – bigtime!
I want to move to Mexico
Here are Stevie’s 5 questions to answer:
- Do you find it difficult to come up with interesting topics to blog about?
Not at all. I did in the beginning of my blogging life, until I discovered there’s so much to write about from just daily living and events in the world.
2. Where do you find inspiration for your blog posts?
In daily life and from books and articles I read.
3. What’s the best thing about Christmas?
The atmosphere when people are feeling a little more festive and reflective and tend to show more goodwill toward others.
4. Would you eat a worm if you knew you would be a
millionaire after you’d eaten it?
I can’t even imagine that, just too gross. Hmm, a toughie for sure, lol.
5. A TV dinner or caviar and champagne?
I don’t like caviar and don’t care for champagne, so at the best of choices left, I’ll choose a TV dinner – but it has to be of the healthy variety or I won’t even eat that.
As many of you already know, I like to share my awards with my fellow bloggers, because we are all unique and deserving. Also, I know it’s holiday time and many of us are slowing down on blogging for now. So below are my questions, and if any of you feel motivated to hop on and join in, welcome! If you’d like to just add any of your answers in comments, they are welcomed too.
Here are my 5 Questions:
Now go forth and tell us three things about yourself, and answer these 5 questions:
What’s up next in your reading list?
Are you dying to get vaccinated and go travel?
Do you have any advice for a new blogger?
Can you drive a stick shift? (I can’t, don’t even ask about my one and only lesson)
What are your plans, if any, to connect with family over the holidays?

Thanks so much Sal. Dreams become goals Sal. Ole! ❤ xx
Well done on your nomination, Debs …Hugs xx
Thanks Carol. ❤
Hi Debby, hope you had a nice Christmas Day. Thanks for taking part, and thanks for the shout-out and for answering my questions. The majority of cars have gearsticks over here, and I’ve never driven an automatic car (wouldn’t know how to, lol). Like you I’m dairy intolerant (but not gluten), and I’ve no plans to get vaccinated or go travelling. I’m happy to stay in the UK. x
Lol, we can’t have everything the same right? Yes, I know standard gearshifts are pretty much the norm in Europe, not as widespread here. Maybe I should add driving a stick to my bucket list? LOL Thanks for the nomination. ❤
Happy Holidays! Not much of a mystery blogger myself, more of a reviewer at this point in time, but just in case, yes, I can drive manual cars. Automatics are not the norm here, so that’s the standard. I’m sure you didn’t give it a good try. My father, who drove for a living most of his life, used to say that anybody could learn to drive (he drove big coaches as well). Fingers crossed for 2021!
Lol Olga, thanks for sharing your driving thoughts. I know Europe uses standard gearshift cars. We have them here too but not as widespread as automatic. Thanks for stopping by Olga. ❤
Fun interview. You’d even think about NOT eating the worm? It’s a lot protein? And I love your questions, Deb.
LOL thanks Jacqui. Yes, a bit too gross for me 🙂
A lovely post, Debby. Mopane worms aren’t so bad [wink]. I already did a post for Stevie’s nomination, but I’m answering your questions here:
What’s up next in your reading list? I am reading Viral Blues by C.S. Boyack. I am then going to read This is Lockdown, compiled by M. J. Mallon
Are you dying to get vaccinated and go travel? I am dying to go and travel. I am not getting vaccinated until I know its safe and it works.
Do you have any advice for a new blogger? Write what you know. Become a part of the community and enjoy blogging. It is a lifestyle.
Can you drive a stick shift? (I can’t, don’t even ask about my one and only lesson) Yes, I only recently got an automatic car. I drove a stick shift car for 42 years.
What are your plans, if any, to connect with family over the holidays? Fortunately we are able to see family. In fact, my house is like a railway station at the moment with people dropping in all day, every day.
Happy New Year, Debby.
Hi Robbie. Thanks for answering the questions here, so fun. It sounds like we may have had similar stick shift stories LOL. You drove a stick before you got the automatic car? Lol Happy New Year, thanks Robbie. 🙂 xx
Fun questions and answers and questions again, Debby! I’d eat a worm for less than a million dollars! But, I’d probably move to Mexico first. 🙂
A lot on my reading list. Whenever I have a moment, I will start with the books of my fellow bloggers and author friends, before moving on to all those paperbacks that I have been carrying around in my small van for three years!
I’ll call my parents on New Year’s Day. Usually, I call my aunt, where the entire family is gathered on January 1st, so I could see and talk to everyone on Skype. Not only will there not be a family party due to Covid, but there will never be a family party like this ever again, because my dear aunt unexpectedly passed away a month ago. 😦 So, I might call a few other family members on the 1st as well.
Wishing you a fabulous end of the year and a fantastic 2021, my friend! Xx
Thanks Liesbet. And again, I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s been a cruel world for so many this year. May you find peace and joy in the year to come and always. ❤
Congratulations Debby – you’re always giving us great thoughts, which are always well presented and thought out. Well deserved … here’s to more in 2021 – stay safe – Mexico sounds good!! Hilary
Thanks so much Hilary for your kudos and wishes. Bring on the new year full of hope! We’re almost there! ❤
