It’s that time of the month again where a group of us writers post something about good things going on in the world to deflect from the negative for the #WATWB – We are the World Blogfest. Today I chose to share a great article I came across about #Kindness, the only task is to do one good thing a week that could make a difference in somebody’s life – 52 Good Deeds to Help Heal the World in 2021.
You can help heal the world by doing good acts, large and small. Since kindness is contagious, your good deeds can spur others to do the same. and since research shows that volunteering and helping others can lead to better health and more happiness, you will be helping yourself too.
Don’t know where to start? Here’s a list of good deeds that you can do even in a socially distanced world:
1. Skype or call a friend to see how they are doing
2. Donate your stimulus check
3. Give an old winter coat to Goodwill
4. Walk your neighbor’s dog
5. Shovel snow (or mow the grass) for an elderly neighbor
6. Donate canned goods to a food pantry
7. Say thank you to an essential worker
8. Ask for donations in your name instead of birthday gifts
9. Bring groceries to an elderly person
10. Use a search engine that supports a cause
11. Donate blood
12. Teach someone a skill they can use
13. Wear a mask and keep socially distant
14. Leave positive comments on social media
15. Apologize
Please continue reading more wonderful suggestions at the original post on Goodnet.
If you’d like to take part in posting the last Friday of every month and sharing your link in our WATWB Facebook Group, anyone is welcome. Hosts this month are:
Sylvia McGrath, Roshan Radhakrishnan Shilpa Garg, Eric Lahti, and Belinda Witzenhausen.

That’s a wonderful list of positivity and selflessness. I’ve been working on a few of the items on the list, like staying in contact with friends, but I think whatever we can do to make someone else’s life better on a weekly basis is a good thing. Have a wonderful day, Debbie, and thanks for this positive March #WATWB post.

I love the ideas you have come up with. Every little helps. We no longer go for the big charities and ‘obvious’ ways in which to help others. I find individuals whose lives I know we can benefit in some small way: no fees paid to executives, no running costs etc. Deeds speak. Practical help or a financial gift – we can see the results and then move to the next. We have always fed people on the streets, taken people into our home who have lost theirs, and tried to help in our own way. I don’t think about what it can do for me (us), but how someone’s life can change on a sixpence. And it can. Every little helps.

You are kind to list these prompts to show kindness, paying it forward. Last week a sent a small check to a friend in need. She called yesterday to thank me for it. As you say, small gestures, big rewards!
You and hubby are in my thoughts and prayers, a NAME on my prayer card, always! ((( )))

Lots of things we can do to make the world a happier friendlier place…. And I used to be a regular blood donar… I give my extra veggies I grow and flowers in the Summer season to my elderly neighbours… I better watch the word elderly though.. Lol being retired myself… One forgets our ages lol.. 🙂
A smile I still give….. Such a shame we don’t see them anymore..
My clothes always go into the charity shops… Help the aged one of my favourites and our local Helicopter Hospital Ambulance service that has to fund itself… Which until I became a supported of it, thought our government helped fund it… I was surprised to find it didn’t..
Many thanks Debby for sharing… I hope you and your hubby are well my friend… We are happily digging for victory in our plot… Spring has sprung!….
Much love my dear friend….
May the New Earth learn to be kinder to their neighbours and to themselves.. ❤
Love and Hugs ❤ ❤ ❤

A great reminder of achievable actions, Debby. Once a week is too easy; some of these should be practiced daily. Imagine we’d all stick to two or three of these habits every day… the world surely would be a much better place, online as well as IRL!! Hope you are doing okay! {}
