In case you missed episode 3 – Losing our Identities with Grief – In this episode, I am talking about how when we lose a spouse, we lose a lot ourselves and have to work hard to find a new path of living.

I think you hit the nail on the head with connection and compassion. Even introverts need others, especially during their grief. One thing I haven’t heard you discuss yet is grief counseling. Perhaps you tried it and found it wasn’t for you.

Thanks so much Pete. I touched on that in a the previous episode about how we have to find a way to get ourselves out, even in the smallest ways and my attempts at online groups that didn’t cut it for me. In my case, there were no options during the year of Covid. I will get back on that topic, but I won’t go too far into it because I don’t have medical authority to speak on that topic specifically. But I should think counseling would be beneficial to many, but not everyone chooses to do so. Thanks for bring this up. 🙂

I remember your suggestions about joining a gym. Makes sense to feed (no pun intended) your physical and emotional needs by connecting with others.

Another excellent Podcast Debby… So many adjustments and I doubt any of us are ever prepared for the vast void which encompasses us..
One thing I also know dear Debby… You are a survivor and you are courageous, overcoming your fears of driving in built up areas, is what makes you push yourself and make the effort… So Kudos to you Debby..
I hope you continue to keep that energy to help yourself… And its good you joined the gym… Exercise is so important for the body..
Sending you love and Hugs Debby.. ❤

Thank you again Sue. The encouragement propels me to keep moving forward. Although there are many days I find it difficult to do anything, I give myself a shake and keep plodding on. I hope one day, the weight of the boulder I carry within will lessen and I will continue to look for the light. Love and hugs back your way my dear friend. ❤ xxxx

This is another great podcast, Debby. I agree with you. The grief I felt after Rick died was very closely kin to PTSD. I had to completely reinvent myself and that is no easy task, especially alone. Thank you for giving voice to what so many experience.

Thank you Jan for sharing that here. It’s truly what it feels like when flashes of memory strike that almost paralyze, I have no other word to describe other than like a trigger – PTSD. Hugs xx

Another compassionate and helpful podcast Debby. Grief and depression walk hand in hand and it is easy to hide as along with grief, depression is seldom spoken about. I am sure those listening will find comforting and reassuring ♥

Hi Debby – I probably should have ‘suffered’ but thankfully managed to get myself through and have kept going … yes I have my moments – but I seem to have an inbuilt resilience … but I’m always happy to learn – so these make helpful listening. All the best – Hilary
