Voting across the world seems to have become a dangerous divide. With social trolling, smear campaigns, and some ruthless politicians, it can be difficult to make an informed decision. In this new attack mode on global elections, it’s important that we as voters, must do our homework before casting our votes instead of taking everything we hear from those who shout loudest. We’re encouraged to vote for our favorites, sometimes following the masses, when we should be looking for the best policies and and agendas before deciding on a candidate. In a world where capitalistic greed dominates for personal gain, I suggest we’re better off taking a look at what we don’t want from a candidate to avoid becoming blind to those who offer sugar coated promises.

It’s often said, may the best man win.

Everyone carries a blemish.

Diligence imperative.

Take pause, weed out the rot.

Before committing

The dangers.

Cast vote.

Well done, Sis. I hope people pay attention to the world politics as a whole. We are all interconnected through trade and other important issues like climate change. In the U. S. I hope people are realizing they must compare the two candidates running and choose the one who will do the LEAST damage to our people and society as a whole. Things are looking up and I would LOVE to think that trump was a horrible blimp in the system. <3

Thanks Stevie. It can be addictive once you get the hang of it. I do love the haibuns, nonets and etherees as they allow us to write more in syllabic than just a tanka or haiku. 🙂 x

Excellent dear Debby… even while trying to avoid the media in the UK right now we have another election as no doubt your aware…
We really do need to do our homework and see the rot that is setting in and weed it out… No longer do I believe at face value anything ‘Any’ politician says…
We only ‘Think’ we have a democratic vote, .. I am now under no illusion as to whom the Governments serve.. and its definitely appears its not always in the peoples interests.. Though I am sure in the beginning many start out in their political careers thinking they can make a difference… But the rot goes deep…
Which I am sure its why we are seeing these systems failing and falling apart… For they are no longer working and people are waking up and seeing through them..

Great Poem and very topical right now..
Much love your way and to Colleen… <3

Thank you so much Sue, for elaborating on what I’ve written. It’s all so scary and true. We were fortunate here 2 weeks ago in our elections. We got lucky to escape the clutches of another power hungry candidate who was only too happy to start taking away women’s rights here too. By the grace of God we still have our Justin Trudeau. I hope our good prevailing will spread around the world. Canadians did their homework and despite the smear campaigns, the victory went to the good. Sending love and light to you all in the UK, my thoughts are with you. <3 Hugs xo

Well done Debby and from your lips to the ears of those voting in all our countries… let’s hope they make the right choice in the UK on December 12th so we can get back to addressing real issues that have been neglected.. no more grandstanding.. time to do what they are paid for…♥♥
