New Reviews Are In for D.G. Kaye Books #Memoir #Nonfiction
Every once in a long while I love to share some new reviews my books have received. So please consider this author Friday feature, my own shameless promotion. LOL. It’s the positive reviews we receive for our work that reinforce our sometimes doubting selves that our words do help to make a difference.

It’s intriguing that most authors with a difficult past write novels to work through that experience – did you ever consider that or have you always wanted to write memoir?
-

Hi Janet. I always felt compelled to write about true things that happen to us in life and have always been one to spread the word on anything I feel pertinent for people to learn about. I suppose that just developed into my nonfiction writing. 🙂

We write to be read…. and there’s nothing more disheartening than to see your hard work suspended in limbo, having maybe read by appreciative readers who don’t take the time to write reviews! Reviews, especially favourable ones, inspire us writers to continue. Great to read, Debby. Hugs xx

Wow, Debby! Some people say that after two months book buzz dies down. You are proving them wrong. Even though “Have Bags” was published some time ago, this book is the gift that keeps on giving. Hurrah!

Thanks Marian. Books are forever. We can always hope word keeps spreading so others learn about our books and keep the momentum going. We all just wish that more people would review! 🙂

What wonderful reviews, Debby. You touch hearts and give solace to others who’ve suffered from narcissistic parents or parents with mental health challenges. Your books about your personal growth are clearly a gift to readers. And Have Bags Will Travel is just a plain (informative) hoot.

Wonderful reviews, Deb. I read ‘Conflicted Hearts’ a long time ago and have PS I Love You ready to read next, and can’t believe I haven’t read it yet. Having experienced narcissim in my own family, I understand too well the need to pull away yet the struggle to be unable to do that as a child, putting your own needs last. It takes years to come to terms with it all. Hearty congratulations on your many writing successes, my dear friend 🙂 <3 xoxo

Thanks bunches Sher. I’m humbled. And I do hope you do get to read P,S. I Forgive You, because it’s closure and learned forgiveness. <3 xoxo

Congratulations Debby – each one must warm your heart – I’m so pleased for you … at some stage I must buy one and read through … just way too many others at the moment. Congratulations and if you don’t help yourself – none us will be the wiser … take care and write on! Cheers Hilary

I read Debbie’s book, Conflicted Hearts, several years ago and I was awed by the authencity, and the heart rendering story. It is very difficult to be a child with an narrcisstic parent, especially a mother who also appeared to have other problems emotionally as well. I really related to her story in her book, Conflicted Hearts, as my father was also a narrcisstic person and as a child, it was very difficult to understand and heartbreaking as well. I have always kept Debbie’s book in mind when I think about what she endured as I related to it so much in her book Conflicted Hearts. Her title really says it all, because that is what you really feel, so conflicted. It is truly a wonderful book to read and I highly recommend it whether or not you have experienced a parent with that emotional disorder. I learned so much and gathered in myself a greater and more forgiving feeling toward my father, whom I loved anyway and I give that credit and understanding of my father to Debbie and her so insightful and actually healing book, Conflicted Hearts.
