How to transfer (migrate) your wordpress blog from .com to .org on your own. Step by step outlined with pics.
I’ve often heard writers and bloggers question whether or not to move their WordPress.com blogs over to self-hosting with a WordPress.org blog. The dilemma is that we are always concerned we are going to lose all of our posts and hard work in the process, and many of us (like myself) don’t know exactly what’s involved in the process. So today I am sharing a post from Elena over at Living with Batman. In her post she points out the benefits to moving over to self-hosted, as well as gives us great detailed play-by-play action on how to go about moving.

But today we have Elena to help us solve the mystery of moving over to your own WordPress blog. So without further ado, I’ll let Elena take it away . .

I am no expert, but if I can do it, you can too.”
“I’ve successfully transferred all of my old posts and managed to migrate all of my subscribers from WordPress.com. This is especially important to me because I thought I would have to redo all of my posts on my social media accounts. But no! If anyone clicks on an old link, it actually directs it to the proper post on the new blog! Total score!”
