“I have been a great critic of myself for most of my life, and I was darned good at it, deflating my own ego without the help of anyone else.”
What do our shopping habits, high-heeled shoes, and big hair have to do with how we perceive ourselves? Do the slights we endured when we were young affect how we choose our relationships now?
D.G. takes us on a journey, unlocking the hurts of the past by identifying situations that hindered her own self-esteem. Her anecdotes and confessions demonstrate how the hurtful events in our lives linger and set the tone for how we value our own self-worth.
Words We Carry is a raw, personal accounting of how the author overcame the demons of low self-esteem with the determination to learn to love herself.
Editorial Review
“D.G. Kaye offers hope to those of us imprisoned by the negativewords and scripts engrained in our minds. Words WeCarry, her own true story, tells us how to re-establish our self-esteem andattract the positive relationships we all deserve!”–Deborah A. Bowman, Author, Publisher, and Advanced ClinicalPsychological Hypnotherapist (ACPH)

Ditto! 🙂

I just grabbed it, Deb. What a treat. You have amazing reviews on Amazon.
dgkaye
Thanks so much Jacqui! I was really amazed at how well this book was received because it’s written as short stories about my own experiences as though I’m talking one on one to someone, hoping they could take something from my experience and it seems many have. 🙂

A journey that too many of us know. Many learned this from those who were suppose to love and care for us. It is such an obstacle to learn to love yourself when you are raised to believe no one ever would. Bravo! If you know this journey and have the means, consider contributing a copy to their local Women’s shelter.
BTW, I’m not a big fan of elaborate covers but I really like that one.
dgkaye
Thank you so much Lea. And great idea! I will check out our local shelters here! 🙂
Léa
I couldn’t help but think of it as I’ve worked with that population so much and also been on the other side… You will be an inspiration. 🙂

Thanks again Lea. What a wonderful idea! I’ve just contacted a few shelters! 🙂

Drats! I jumped on this offer immediately and despite being told by Amazon that it was sent to my Kindle it never got there. I *was* able to successfully grab Tina’s book as my first “experiment” with the darned thing, so I’m not sure why I can’t get yours the same way.
Tech support for my i-net account recently did some “fixing” at their end, and a techie buddy of mine tried (unsuccessfully) to download an ap to my phone, so I’m hoping that in getting my i-net working again one or the other didn’t “break” my connection to my Kindle and my iPhone while they were at it. I had hoped to be able to curl up with it tonight.
Technology . . . grrrrr! I’ll keep trying – and thanks so much for your generous offer.
xx,

HI M. Thanks for your interest. I’m not sure if you’re having a glitch or not, but if you have an Amazon account and it offers to ‘click to purhase’ > Make sure after you click on to ‘buy’ you click after when Amazon asks you where you’d like to send it> ie. Kindle, PC, or other devices>hit Kindle. Did you also try refreshing the page? xx
Madelyn Griffith-Haynie, MCC, SCAC
On my Mac/Amazon set-up it immediately sends to the Kindle without asking, whenever I “click to purchase” — supposedly. That’s how it worked for the other two I asked for anyway. I think this was just an odd glitch. All’s well that ends well! Thanks for your support.
xx,
mgh

Oh good! I can tell you I’ve had nothing but technical glitches with everything since Friday, this blog not excluded, between Windows 10 updating and screwing up my blog dashboard and beyond. So it doesn’t surprise me that anything you try to do in relation to me would glitch! LOL 😉 xx

You’ve had the Windoze Flu – it’s going around, I hear. 🙂

OH, so that’s what it’s called. Damn Microsoft just hijacks our computers. 🙁 xx

Another good reason I’m glad I went MAC. We can choose “automatic upgrades” (and notification) or NOT. Guess which one I choose? 🙂

Thanks, Debby. I already have all of your books in my TBR waiting for me to get to them. I loved Have Bags, Will Travel (http://tinyurl.com/y83pd9ba) and can’t wait to read the rest of them.
dgkaye
Oh I know Michelle. And thank you once again. I remember your review even without the link, lol. How’s that? 🙂 xx

What great reviews, Debby. I’m certain I would agree, though I haven’t yet read it. I’ve been lugging around some of that same baggage. It’s nice when it gets lost in transit. 🙂
dgkaye
Lol, so true Norah. 🙂

I seem to be missing out on all the free goodies on your blog last week. That’s what I get for being a busy bee… too busy to read books as well, unfortunately. Happy for you in regards to all those killer reviews! 🙂
dgkaye
Thanks. And sorry you missed it. Maybe you should check in tomorrow when I’m sharing another free promo on a friend’s book. 🙂
