I’m always up for writing tips, Deb. While everyone else is shopping today, I’ll be losing myself in my next book. I can’t wait!

Happy to share Jacqui. And I don’t blame you. I’m sitting tight at home working too. Albeit, I may be scouring the internet a little later. 🙂

Another great collection, Debby. I was particularly interested in the article on quoting songs, as I’d like to publish an innovation on a song. I found it very difficult, in fact, impossible to contact the publisher. I’ll probably (when I get time) write my own tune (I’ve written the verses), but it won’t be as useful if teachers can’t use it in conjunction with the song that is readily available to them on the internet.(This is for a lesson for readilearn.)
The other one I found interesting was the article about rules and generalisations. I use Grammarly and I often find it penalises me for constructions that I don’t consider to be errors.
dgkaye
I’m so glad you found these helpful Norah. I’d read long ago about the sticky issues with copying lyrics. Good on you for wanting to investigate the publishers to try and put together a new song. We have to do our due diligence as writers to avoid any legal consequences.
And as far as Grammrly goes, like most writing apps, the rules are pretty much by the book, but many editors agree with variations. I know many times when writing in Word it will underline what it feels is questionable words or spelling, so I don’t believe these apps are current with the times of acceptable spellings. 🙂 x

We could do with our own style apps. 🙂

Great tips, Debby. Promotion is not one of my strong points, so these reminders and suggestions are always helpful. Have a wonderful weekend!
dgkaye
Happy to help Diana. Most of us writers dread the promoting part. 🙂 x

More tips! More tips! I may tip over under the weight. LOLLLLL. But seriously, difficult as that is for me on some occasions, I do find lots of helpful stuff here. Now if I can just get back to the writing–oh wait, I have to go do that now. 🙂

Hi Debby! Thanks for the great links. Storing our Amazon reviews is a great idea. I’ve lost 2 reviews for The Fall of Lilith. They were both 5 stars and verified purchases. It really hurt to lose them. Thanks again for this useful information. 😊💕

Hi Vashti. So happy to see you pop by. Glad you found that article useful. Yes, there is no rhyme or reason to the antics of Anazon. I make it a habit to copy new reviews onto my book’s review pages on my blog. You’re in my thoughts my friend. <3 xxx
Carol Balawyder

Thanks for another great set of resources, Debby. Especially the last two articles look interesting… if I ever get my book finished. I have started working on it again, though, which is something! 🙂

One day at a time Liesbet, you’ll get there when the universe wants you to. 🙂

Thanks, Debby. Great resources. I knew about the lyrics issue and I told a writer who wanted me to translate one of her books. As a result I lost the translation but I hope I saved her from having some problems along the line.
dgkaye
I sure hope she took your advice! 🙂
