I’m particularly interested in that free photo library. I’m still using the old editor most of the time, so I haven’t seen this – now I’ll know where to look <3

Liesbet
Thanks for sharing these tips, Debby. Hugh is a blogging guru, indeed! I have a “digital print” (image) of my signature in a file on my computer and copy and paste that into documents that need filling out. It has worked so far. 🙂
dgkaye
Thanks Liesbet. And would you mind sharing here which app you used to generate that signature? <3
Liesbet
No app. It’s an image. We use our computer. We just took a photo of our signature on a piece of paper, opened the photo in Paint.net (or any photo manipulation program), made sure it was black and white, and created a transparent background.
Then, this file (the signature) was saved. I copy and paste the image into documents that need my signature. The important part is that the background is transparent, so just the signature shows up when adding it. Hope that makes sense. 🙂
dgkaye
Thanks Liesbet. How do you get it transparent without the white paper background showing?
Liesbet
I think it has to do with the “opacity”, and turning it all the way down to get rid of the background, but I’m not sure. Mark did this for both our signatures many years ago, in Paint.net. I’ll ask him whether he remembers. 🙂
dgkaye
Oh, okay, I get it. It’s a feature I’d have to use on an editing app I believe. Thanks! 🙂 x
Liesbet
OK. I asked Mark. Apparently, it’s more complicated than I thought – you need a computer, photo editor (Paint.net is our go-to and it’s free), and a scanner. Or a camera to take a photo of the signature on white paper.
Here is an excellent tutorial to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PRJd-_iVqQ
To make the signature smaller or move it around a document (at the end of the video), you could just make the frame smaller and move it with your mouse.
dgkaye
Oh thanks to you and Mark. I’ll give it a whirl! Yes, I figured you must use an editing app to do so. I’ll let you know! Thanks again! 🙂 x
Amy M Reade
Those scammers don’t take long to jump on a sure thing, do they? It’s disgraceful. Thanks for helping to get the word about about them.
What a lot of great stuff this week! I’m bookmarking the post so I can return to it again and again. Enjoy the rest of your week, Debby!
