Today we have another interesting and informative article on editing by Fantasy author, Deborah Jay. 

 

Many of you are aware that there are different types of editors. Deborah takes us through the different types of editors below in her post, and talks about the author’s right to agree or disagree with the editor’s changes. She also demonstrates when it is best to follow the editor’s suggestions.

  2. Yes, many people think there’s just one kind of editor – in reality there are different specialities and each one looks for a different feature of the language. Glad you reblogged this one so I could read it ♥

  4. This is so tough because many new writers (and old writers) can’t afford three separate edits. It is very useful to know though and to know where one needs the most professional help. Great article.

    1. I agree Diana. But it’s informative for distinguishing amongst the different types of editing. Most writer use copy/line edits I’m finding. 🙂

  7. I am sure if ever I wrote my book lol.. they would all have a wonderful field day at editing my vocabulary ha ha,,,Punctuation not a strong subject, but I get by 🙂 lol 🙂

    1. You must stop being so hard on yourself Sue. You are an eloquent writer. Even the greats had editors. We make the stories, and they polish. 🙂
