The Years – Best Friends
Where did twenty-five go? We’d ask one another as we reminisced about our younger selves.

Good times, fearless and carefree,
When every day was filled with a new possibility.
(Me and Bri in our mid 20s)
Where should we go tonight? Who might we meet?
The days of blue eyeshadow, midnight pool parties, and five inch heels on our feet.

Vivid memories become slightly foggier.
Coffee houses harbored our secrets and wants,
A time to go dancing, frequenting our favorite haunts.

Nightclubs in dark smoke-filled rooms, our shadows glared on the dance floor from strobing lights,
Highlighting our wild passions as we danced through the night.
Music blaring, too loud to speak,
But kept our feet in perfect rhythm to the disco beat.
Crushes, excitement, and heartbreak were all part of the times,
The days I miss; end of an era, marking maturation of the minds.
30 some years later

Lol thanks so much Hugh. I’d love to go for a ride on your time machine! 🙂 I’m not sure if there will be a reunion this year again, but hoping to get to the UK next year to visit Zan (she moved there 18 years ago, and even that hasn’t hindered our friendship), and get to the Bash at the same time! Here’s to hoping! xo

Lol thanks Aq! Yes, so many people asked me how I could go from blonde to red, doesn’t everyone want to be a blonde? My answer: Redheads have more fun! 🙂 Happy week to you my friend! xo ❤

A lovely tribute to friendship that last and last and last. No matter how far away we are. No matter how long it’s been since we’ve seen each other. That sharing of the past. My brother was my first dance partner and we danced together again at my son’s wedding in 2013 and at his son’s wedding a few years before that. We still knew how. The body remembers…

Hi Debby,
I was looking for an example of Festisite. Thanks for telling me about it. How did you get a ScoopIt social share button?

Lol, Hi Janice. I am still learning more about Festisite, but I like that one particular one I used because you can add in whatever words you like. And now for the lol, to be honest, I don’t remember where I got the ‘scoopit’ share button. I’ve been frantically searching for a reblog, or repost button for self hosted wordpress, and I googled ‘ reblog to share button on wordpress.org’ and I began clicking on suggestions and thought this was the same as reblog, but it turns out it’s not, and I really have no clue what it does now that I managed to get it up there, lol. So maybe you can enlighten me? Hilarious huh? 🙂
