SPIRIT GUIDES: Who are they? Do we all have of them?

Welcome to my Spiritual Awareness column at the Smorgasbord. In this edition I’m talking about Spirit Guides. Are you familiar with spirit guides? Are you one of some who actually know who your spirit guides are? Yes, lots of questions here, so let’s dig in.

Our spirit guides are ascended souls who have mastered life’s lessons, now living in the spirit realm, and they can very well be relatives who have passed. They are like our guardian angels in a sense (we all have both), unlike angels, who are everywhere, omni-present, unless they are specifically our very own guardian angel, both, always with us. Personal guides are our very own personal protectors and help guide us on our soul path. They have signed a Soul Contract to help us navigate our material world.

Each human being on earth has three personal guides, and sometimes more, depending on certain times in life that may require more. Our protector Spirit Guide can often be one of our family members from down the ancestral line, right down to someone who has passed in our lifetime. Spirit guides never leave us through life, they are with us till death, although some others may join us throughout our lifetime. Our main guide helps our souls evolve, our gatekeeper guide is our protector, and our very own guardian angel always stand behind us. If we’re feeling uncomfortable Vibes, we can always call on our gatekeeper to help rid us of what isn’t serving us. We also have what are called working guides who come into our lives as we need them in various phases of our lives, to help us through specific events.

Every culture of people has spirit guides and may refer to them differently in each religion.

How do we know our guides are around?

Our guides are eternally with us, but most of us may not be aware of this. Guides don’t interfere with our lives, they are merely with us to protect and help keep us out of harm’s way, they are with us to enlighten us, and to help keep us moving in the right direction.

Now you may be wondering how they do this. No, you most likely won’t hear them, and will probably never see them, but they work mysteriously in our lives to direct us to our higher selves. Like messengers from nature often bring us signs from passed loved ones, our guides use same signs and symbols, and tug at our intuition to get our attention, just as some of our forewarning dreams may portend a message. Often the subtle messages we receive lead us to an idea or place we need to follow. Don’t discard your Gut Instincts when something is niggling at you. Keep track of synchronized events. An idea ‘out of the blue’ is usually a message transmitted from our protectors sending forth ideas through our subconscious. Our guides help us with our ideas, creativity, tough decisions, and dark times in life. They are always helping us find our way out of a funk and directing us to our true purpose in life, the more we are attuned, the more we can recognize the warnings. Messages are sent and felt through our mind and gut, alerting us to a bad or wrong situation. And in the same way, our guides bring us  the people we need to connect with to help fulfill our lives.

Yes, we all have these heavenly beings in our corners to guide and help us through life. But don’t forget, we all have FREE will, meaning sometimes we choose to take a different path than the one we know in our gut is telling us is the right way. And often when we don’t follow the right path or our instincts, we find out the hard way that we have strayed the higher road. Also, guides, angels, and all heavenly spirits above will never interfere with our lives, they are merely here to guide and protect us. This is why we must remember to ask them for help. They are always with us working behind the scenes of our lives but will never interfere in the choices we make – merely give us warnings to help keep us thriving in the right direction.

How are some of the ways Spirit can get our attention?

If you are sensitive, you can feel their presence. Believe it or not, some lucky few can tune in and actually see or hear their guides – this has never happened to me, consciously, anyway. This photo I took when I visited our grave on my husband’s death anniversary on April 7th. I was blown away when I looked at it because there were, what a friend in Mexico had deemed, ‘Jesus Rays’ coming from the sky. Look at the rainbow rays over the gravestone. If you can enlarge this photo by pinching it, you can almost make out a figure in front through the rainbow colors. Perhaps an angel?

My 5 Star Review:

Hard times in the Deanne family. Mr. Deanne scrounges up what he can, enough to buy two chickens and cherries for Christmas. This would be a great treat for the family with four daughters who haven’t had the luxury of a savory meal in awhile. Even their pet dogs were emaciated looking from a non substancial diet. So no doubts they found the nest up on a tree tempting and killed the brand new baby chicks – except one.

When the girls hear all the commotion out front with the dogs barking, the one tiny Hoopoe bird is still alive. The girls take care of him and nurse him back to health and name him Hoopie.

A few months later, Mr. Deanne picks up a new job, and the eldest daughter, Stella also gets a part-time job. When Easter rolls around, the mother announces they are all going on a beach holiday for school break. By then, Hoopie is home- trained, and they of course take him with them on vacation. Hoopie enjoyed flying around there freely. The girls worried he may fly away now that he learned to forage for his own food and they hadn’t seen him now for a few days. Hoopie does return and he goes back home with the family. Later Hoopie meets a mate. The girls are sad for Hoopie’s new independence, but realize he is a creature of the skies who must make a family of his own, so they build a nest in preparation for the one day Hoopie will come back to nest with family. Will he?

This is a lovely story about a loving family with kindness and nurturing for each other and their feathered friends.

My 5 Star Review:

This is a short heartfelt Christmas story with all the elements of the season – a blustery cold almost Christmas day, friendship, angels, furry friends, and one evil man to disrupt hearts, but is eventually rewarded with his due karma.

Kenzie is not having a good Christmas. Her fiance has dumped her, her parents are dead, and her best friend has betrayed her, leaving Kenzie feeling there isn’t much left for her to live for, when her guardian angel gives her a new reason to want to continue on.

Kenzie was ‘left at the altar’ so to speak, when her awful fiance Heath stiffs her days before her Christmas wedding day. If that wasn’t bad enough, she discovers her best friend is now the one to marry Heath. That’s a hard pill to swallow. But just as a furry litter of kittens has given Kenzie a new reason to soldier on, she discovers her now ex-bestie was dumped just as she was – a suspicious pattern of women being used. We discover more dirt on the dastardly Heath as the two girlfriends meet up serendipituously on a blustery Christmas Eve and discover Heath’s evil pattern. Will the spirit of Christmas bring these two friends back together? You will have to read on to find out.

Cutting Emotional Cords with Archangels

Welcome back to my Spiritual Awareness series. While we’re still on the topic about angels, today I’d like to share with you a method of how to remove internal negative energies, or energetic form of attachment, with the help of two of our highest Archangels, Michael and Raphael. We are all connected to higher source through vibrational energy, and we refer to ‘connected’ by way of etheric or psychic energy cords. But what are these invisible cords? And how can we eliminate them to help release a negative energy connection we prefer not to keep within us?

We can learn to practice the art of cutting these invisible cords. And to help with the releasing of these cords that sometimes drain us and sap our energy unknowingly, we look to Archangels Michael and Raphael. Michael is the highest in the order of all seven Archangels. He is recognized in Christianity, Judaism and in Islam. Raphael is regarded as the angel who possesses God’s healing powers.

The energy cords we’re most linked with are people in our close circles, and almost always, family. These same cords also connect us to profound events in our lives that remain in the back of our sub-conscience – some good, some bad. And it’s those unhealthy attachments we want to eliminate.

All the negativity we carry because of unhealthy cords that bind us should be cleared from within every once in awhile, just as we cleanse ourselves and our homes. If you find yourself continuously carrying bad feelings, harboring negative energies, reliving unpleasant events of unfavorable conditions, or taking in energies from someone close to you, allowing them to take up too much residence in your head leaving you feeling unsettled within, it’s probably time to begin cutting. .

Welcome back to my angel series in my Spiritual Awareness series here at Sally’s Smorgasbord. Today I’m going to distinguish the difference between heavenly and earth angels.

We are all spiritual beings of light, but not everyone is deemed a Lightworker or an Earth Angel.

Earth angels are born into the physical world to become beacons for humanity and the earth to help spread light, love, and peace. Earth angels are known as evolved spiritual beings and highly evolved souls who’ve spent time in higher spiritual dimensions of love and light. They vibrate with light and were summoned to earth to serve as lightworkers on earth. This does not mean that they are or were spiritual angels from another realm, only that they are highly evolved souls from past life experiences, born on earth to learn and share new life lessons to help others.

Angel studies tell us lightworkers originate from the 7th and 9th dimensions of angelics, incarnated into physical form with an appointed mission to awaken others with life lessons and by events to help share divine truth. Being an earth angel means to be called through the soul to help others by spreading messages of compassion and kindness to help make a difference on earth. You can also note that just because someone is an earth angel, doesn’t necessarily mean they are without faults of their own or that they grow actual angel wings, they are human. Earth angels still experience the same ups and downs in life as every other human.

Earth angels are helpers in the living world with a past history of helping and healing in a previous life, and their gifts of angelic energy are used to raise vibrations of humanity. Many earth angels who are aware of their gifts were chosen to spread goodness during this sweeping period of change and growth, and to help deflect negativity by sharing alternatives to hopelessness and indifference. Earth angels are here in this transitional time to assist the world of merging eras, and to help bring mother earth and humanity into a higher vibrational place of love and peace through loving energy.

If you can answer ‘yes’ to most of these questions below, you may well be an earth angel:

  • You are always willing to help others with ideas, solutions, and support
  • You are one who seeks to better situations
  • You often aren’t comfortable with asking for help for yourself
  • Your senses are always tuned into high vibrational energy
  • You have the ability to lift other people’s spirits
  • You always look for the good, even when it’s difficult to envision
  • You are gifted in the arts, writing or healing
  • You feel other people’s pain and are empathetic to those who suffer
  • You often attract needy people
  • You abhor confrontation
  • You sometimes struggle to remain grounded (angels don’t stand on their feet, they float)
  • You aren’t selfishly competitive and always wish others well in their endeavors
  • You are sensitive to energies
  • You often feel alienated from those who don’t understand you
  • You may feel overwhelmed in crowds because of too much energy emitted
  • You grew up feeling you could never relate to your immediate family, or that you were sent to an emotionally distant and dysfunctional family to teach them life lessons
  • People you’ve met briefly feel an openness to confide in you
  • You are a born teacher
  • You uplift others
  • You often feel like a lone wolf
  • Others often seek your guidance
  • You’ve had a difficult childhood
  • You abhor discord and can’t tolerate violence
  • You’re naturally intuitive

Signs that our Angels are Around and are Connecting with Us

Welcome back to my next series of episodes in my spiritual awareness series. In this article I’m going to talk about angels and how to recognize them.

 

Can You Feel When Your Angels are Around You? Do you know how to recognize signs when angels are communicating with you?

Angels are pure spiritual beings. They are not ghosts of anybody’s past, but benevolent celestial beings who interact between God and heaven and earth. They are God’s creations as messengers, created from light, and therefore, they have not evolved from a once human form. Angels are not to be confused with other spirits and lost loved ones that may visit us that also leave us signs. But, they are able to show up in both apparition and human form, and are always around us whether we believe or are aware of their presence or not. All celestial beings are made of energy, this is why and how they are able to transmit and flow to wherever they need to be. Just as when humans die, their souls don’t because energy doesn’t die.

Angels will never impose on our free will. If we wish to speak to, or ask something of our angels, all we have to do is speak to them either verbally, aloud, or by sending our thoughts to them. They can hear us and receive, and if we are tuned in with them, they will often show up in some form, sign, or deed when we need them.

 

How Do We Know Our Angels are Around?

There are many different signs that an angel or even a lost loved one can leave us to let us know they are visiting or leaving us a message. These signs can be anything from feeling an unexpected drop in temperature change around us, giving us a chill or shivers, a warm sensation as though there is a human beside us, a familiar scent that comes about that has no relevance to the natural scent in our particular present surroundings, finding a feather on our path, through dreams, repeated number sequences, flashes of light, something falling off a shelf for no particular reason, and so many more.

Angels can also appear in human form, taken for as a complete stranger whose purpose is to help or teach us a lesson. These forms are referred to as earth angels. Music is a great transmitter of angelic signs. That certain song that will play on the radio in a particular moment you may be thinking about someone or troubled about, is often a message from the angels letting us know that person is thinking of us, or perhaps alerting us to give them a call. Often, when we receive these signs, we are tempted to call them coincidences, when they are in fact, messages from our angels.

Most people have one sense that is more prominent than another when it comes to sensing the presence of angels and spirit. Some people actually see visions of angels. I have never had the honor to see one of these presences, but I do have other senses that pick up on energies. I can recall several times in my life where I’ve been saved from something terrible and noted it as ‘saved by the grace of God’, where in fact, it was my guardian angel who helped me. We all have a guardian angel assigned to us whether we believe in them or not.

My personal gift for sensing spirit is by scent and by touch. I have had two people I loved very much, now in heaven, come to visit me on several occasions, my father, and my Aunty Sherry. When they visit me, I can smell the room being taken over by the scent of my aunt’s perfume or the smell of a smoke-filled room with the scent of my father’s favorite cigarette brand. It’s uncanny and sometimes not easy to explain to others but it’s true.

I also can feel my body go cold and begin to shiver when I sense a presence around me or when I get a foreboding of something unpleasant to come. It’s like a warning sign that comes over me in the pit of my stomach – a feeling of doom, a sixth sense type of feeling. I’ve been physically touched by spirits, and I also receive messages through my intuition and in my dreams that I make note of so I can remember and try to analyze what the message portends.

Let’s Have A Look – Spirit World #Sunset – Do you believe?

Today I want to share a weird photo experience I had. As many of you know, I recently moved into a smaller condo within the same building. I have to say, I don’t love it here. I don’t love living back on my own without my husband, but I also don’t like living in dark places.

 

When I agreed to take the unit, before getting to actually see it because it was under renovations, I was told it was a western exposure. That was music to my ears as the unit we’d lived in for six years together had an eastern exposure. The morning sun lit up our home for a good part of the day, but the trouble was, other balconies looked on in if they chose to look over their balconies, thus, having me keeping the blinds closed most of the day in the living room where I spent much of my time. I always complained to my husband that we would never move anywhere again if sunlight didn’t fill our rooms. But I was duped.

 

Sure my new place has ‘barely’ a western exposure, but once again, the way the building is laid out, an extended part blocks the sun, leaving a partial view of the small forest behind blocking sun with the trees. Needless to say, I got very depressed over this once I got the rude awakening. The sun only peeks out through the section of trees through my balcony livingroom window after 4pm and if I hadn’t purchased all new LED white daylight lightbulbs and a huge standup lamp with heavy duty large white light bulbs that actually can fool one into believing the sun is beaming through the windows, it would be like living in the dark 24/7.

 

So now that I’ve given you the lowdown on the quasi dungeon-like condo I live in, let me tell you about the weird sunset story. I don’t often see much of any sunsets here, and I don’t often go on my balcony, other than to put yet another item out on the shelving unit I put out there because of lack of room for some of my storage items, but the other evening something compelled me to take my phone out and snap a few photos.

 

I was walking by the window around 8pm when I noticed an extremely orange beam of sunlight shining through the trees into my window. I thought it unusual as in the almost two months I’ve lived here, I’d never saw that strength of sun peeking through. Now, most of you know I’m quite spiritual and interested in the world of spiritual beings and messages from the beyond so I wanted to share these photos I felt compelled to take. The photos that appeared on my camera were quite vivid with color and orbs, but were NOT visible to my naked eye. I’m still awe inspired by these photos and still trying to figure them out.

 

I know some of you here are also spiritual readers – you know who you are, and I’d be thrilled for feedback on thoughts about what you all get from these images below. Don’t forget to enlarge the photos to get a better view.

Today I’m sharing a recent read – Testimony of Light written by Helen Greaves, but the writing is all telepathically transmitted to Helen from her departed good friend and former nun, Frances Banks. My 5 Star Review:

The book was written in the late 1960s by Helen Greaves, who was a writer, not a practicing medium, who was purportedly translating the messages of her departed friend, a former nun, Frances Banks, who had passed a short while before the writing. Frances was communicating to her friend Helen through telepathic writing (channeled thoughts from Frances) from the next life. We are told that Frances had been encouraged by her group of souls to contact her friend Helen in order for her to document Frances’ experiences in a book for the benefit of those still residing on the earth plane, wanting to know more about the other side, and wanting to confirm that our soul and consciousness go with us.

I was particularly interested in the fact that Frances had for some 25 years, been a nun in a Christian order, but left after apparently finding the confines of organized religion  no longer satisfactory as she began her lifelong quest for studying spiritual truth.

Published in 1969, Helen Greaves received telepathically (not automatic writing) from her close friend, Sister Frances Banks who died in 1965. For those of us who are curious about the after world, I’d say that Banks’ sharing of life from another realm was a fascinating peek into the next world. The subject matter printed back in the 60s was well ahead of our times.
